Water skiing began in 1922 when Ralph Samuelson strapped two boards to his feet and rigged a clothesline up to his boat on Lake Pepin in Minnesota, USA ... we’ve come a long way since then!
FUN FACT!
The UK has produced some of the World's top-ranking skiers including 11-times World Slalom Record Holder and waterskiing legend, Andy Mapple, OBE. Andy also won 12 Pro Tour titles, 14 Masters, 14 US Opens and 15 Moomba Masters. He started skiing at the age of 13 and just 5 years later won his first World Championship! Now there's inspiration to get out on the water!
